Absentee Bid Notice: Due to technical errors inherent to websites and the internet, please do not assume your absentee bid has been received. All absentee bids must be confirmed by a staff member at the office of Wears Auctioneering via a phone call or email.

Absentee Bidder Terms & Conditions

Upon entering a bid, you, the bidder, agree to the following terms & conditions. Wears Auctioneering makes every effort to identify and list items on our auctions accurately, however, errors can occur and it is the buyer’s responsibility to verify that the merchandise is what they perceive it to be. All items are sold as-is, where-is.

1. By placing an absentee bid, you are authorizing Wears Auctioneering to bid on your behalf up to the limit of your bid. Your bid is irrevocable and non-cancelable.

2. For the service of Wears Auctioneering executing your absentee bid, you will be assessed the following service fee accordingly:

Under $50.00 per item $5.00 per item

$50.00 - $4,999.00 per item 10% of selling price per item

$5,000.00 - $19,999.00 per item $500.00 per item

$20,000 or greater per item $1,000.00 per item

3. Full payment is required and due prior to the execution of any absentee bid in the form of a personal check delivered to Wears Auctioneering or a credit card. Bids which are not accompanied by full payment paid in advance will not be honored.

4. Wears Auctioneering will purchase your item(s) at, or below your maximum stated bid. Your bid will be advanced at the customary auction increment.

5. Wears Auctioneering will contact you, the absentee bidder, via phone regarding successful bids immediately following the auction.

6. You are required to make arrangements to take possession of all merchandise purchased on your behalf with an absentee bid prior to the conclusion of the auction and assume all responsibility for merchandise if you direct us to leave it at the auction site.

7. In extenuating circumstances, arrangements can be made with Wears Auctioneering to temporarily take possession of your merchandise. Additional handling and storage fees may apply and all such arrangements must be made prior to the auction.

8. Items not claimed by the absentee bidder will be re-auctioned at Wears Auctioneering’s discretion and the auction commission will be deducted from gross sale proceeds and balance returned to absentee bidder.

9. Unsuccessful absentee bid payments made by credit card will be refunded at the conclusion of the auction. Unsuccessful absentee bid payments in the form of personal check will be returned to the absentee bidder or destroyed.
